I was going to complain about the sexualization of women and the patriarchal mindset this industry promotes, but this film didn't seem nearly as bad as other titles from this year (which is still sad) but where do you get off promoting violence against a minority group, and how does Pinkbike as a responsible centre for media distribution condone this behaviour?

Why the hell did carbonlite get negative propped? Guy's like pinkkrow and anyone else who neg props carbonlite need to look at themselves and wonder what makes them think their so much better than anyone else who rides a bike. Everyone has their own thing who makes who they are, and if hating on others niches is your thing, then you really need to get a new mindset.

I agree with you carbonlite, except that bit part about hipsters being a minority group.
  • + 2
flag carbonlite (Nov 10, 2011 at 4:12)
you think they are a majority? cyclists period are unfortunately a minority and you only need to look at how were treated by the government to understand that. Now I can only speak from a Canadian perspective, but while there are social group who are working to develop positive relationships with local governments to be able to build some trails the majority of cyclists who commute for work are left high and dry.

I mean Rob Ford Called everyone who rides a bike a pinko commi after giving this speech
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nySs1cEq5rs&feature=player_embedded />and was elected Canada's mayor of an extremely southern city geographically for Canada. Because people supported him, and want to continue marginalizing cyclists as minority group. So long as we are the deviators for riding a bike, it will be socially acceptable to hit us with cars, and ridicule us at hospitals because "what were we thinking", "we should have expected that", "its our own fault".

and hipsters are an even smaller group out of that, who are just openly abused. It might not be a racial thing, it might not be a gender thing, but its still a discrimination thing, and I'm really disappointed PinkBike hasn't stepped in and removed the comment. I honestly expected speech promoting violence to last 30 seconds on a homepage post. But I guess it shows that PB will sell out whatever majority they choose, and in this way I'd say they are ruining themselves by promoting unintelligent, hateful discourse and alienating members of their own community.

I dont understand what the problem is with a movie with a name like "A Bike Movie 2" featuring all different genres of cycling. I personally do not own a fixed gear bike nor do I get any kind of satisfaction from riding one, however I do respect the skill required to do what these guys are doing on there fixies. I think the movie looks like it will be one to watch all the through before making a judgment call like "it sucks". Poser hipster people are stupid Ill def agree with that, but Im pretty confident in saying that the guys in this teaser could shred on just about any bike they choose to ride. And the weenies that are complaining about the hot chicks dancing, well I think we should be more concerned about those comments then the dudes riding in the video with the hot chicks dancing.

Remember Chris Akrigg on the fixie? and Danny MacAskill on the trials bike? and Sam Pilgrim on the DJ bike? Yeah... they were all sick. It's about time we have a movie with all that in it and more!

f*ck fixies? f*ck those tight pants? f*ck hipsters?

People riding fixies must be like emo's. I have a NS Bikes Analog, which has now a brake and a freewheel. I was an idiot willing to try the "track feel" on a public road and I crashed and burned like one. Riding a fixie on a track is dangerous, riding one on the streets and in between people and cars is just asking for death (or a nurse with a wheelchair) to come and take you or others away. It is everything but safe... But the tricks and high speeds give a good shot of adrenaline, and flatland tricks or art riding are pretty cool to watch.
BUT we are all the same: we like our bikes to look cool, we like to ride in style, do tricks and we all take a certain amount of risk of injuries.

Since you like to nag so much about the fact that fixies are in the movie, they invented a nice feature along with the dvd player being born, and it's called "skip". Not buying the dvd is a nice way to disrespect the sport you like because some part of what is shown is not what you like.

Remember when we were stoked to see any form of riding being reproduced and distributed to the masses and now we complain and rant about editing styles and content, too much flatland not enough downhill, where's the girls, I hate the music, I could make a better movie...
Watch it enjoy it and remember these guys are just having fun on the 2 wheeled machine that we all love so much.

First of all Fixies are the best. I am sorry but they take a lot more damn talent to ride then mountain bikes. I love mountain bikes and I dirt jump. But I also ride a fixie that is the prettiest and purest brakeless form of a bike. All of you haters on fixies are just jealous people with small wieners. hahaha
  • + 2
flag iamamodel (Nov 10, 2011 at 0:03)
 Okay, I'll bite... Smile

Why mountain bikes are better than fixies, in fifteen thousand words or fewer:

On a fixie you can ride in the street.

On a mountain bike you can ride the loamy single track of a German forest, through the mud and muck of the English countryside, along the hard packed sand of a Californian beach, in the red dust of the Australian desert, on a goat track deside a roaring river in foothills of the Himalayas, across a icy mountain pass in Switzerland, through the lush green forest of a double black diamond trail in Canada... and, oh yeah, ride in the street.
  • + 1
flag tomgreene (Nov 10, 2011 at 6:01)
Wow. Like i didnt even know those facts. Obviously u dont know that much about biking and the different genres of it. Btw riding any mountain bike on the street absolutely sucks compared to a road bike. Its slower. Big Grin

Dont get me wrong, i love mtb. Im a little disappointed in the lack of good art and design in the mtb world but oh well. I ride all bikes. If u dont believe me look at my page on pinkbike and see the track i have. Lol

I was in austria riding at leogang two summers ago and it was supreme.
Bottom line they are all bikes and riding one will only help the other.
